Job description
Role overview
This position is for a student admissions and outreach specialist who will connect with prospective learners and their families, explain available academic programs, and support them through the admission journey. The role calls for someone who is empathetic, goal-oriented, and comfortable handling phone-based counselling and follow-ups.
Primary responsibilities
- Reach out to interested students, enquirers, and parents from an existing lead database to present courses, programs, and placement-related offerings.
- Speak with candidates to understand their academic history, career plans, and concerns, then recommend the most suitable program.
- Convert enquiries into admissions by addressing objections, resolving doubts, and guiding prospects through each stage of the enrolment process.
- Keep daily call logs, lead updates, notes, and follow-up details accurate in CRM tools or MS Excel.
- Plan and execute consistent follow-ups with warm and hot leads to build confidence and encourage campus visits or registrations.
- Work closely with academic counselling and marketing teams to arrange walk-ins, seminar participation, and spot-admission interactions.
Qualifications and skills
The role asks for strong verbal communication, a polite and patient approach, and the ability to build trust quickly over the phone. Candidates should be comfortable working with Bengali and Hindi, with English considered an added advantage. Basic computer usage is needed, including MS Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with calling tools or CRM systems.
Experience preference
Applicants with 6 months to 2 years of experience in tele-calling, inside sales, or customer service are preferred, especially those who have worked in education, EdTech, or vocational training. However, freshers with excellent communication skills may also be considered.
Education requirement
Minimum qualification is 10+2 / Higher Secondary. A graduate degree in any stream is preferred.
