Role Purpose

In the position of Education Counsellor at IDP, you will offer personalized expert guidance to international students, helping them choose educational pathways aligned with their academic and career objectives. Acting as a reliable advisor, you will provide clear, precise, and culturally sensitive information regarding study programs, admission requirements, and local education systems. Your support will involve assessing student needs, assisting with documentation, facilitating application processes, and connecting students with fitting institutions. You will also actively promote the full range of IDP’s student services and products, working collaboratively with education providers and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve and manage sales targets by expertly guiding prospective international students through all stages of their education journey, including promoting key student products and services, nurturing leads, and facilitating successful application submissions.
• Provide outstanding customer service by establishing strong relationships with students, their families, and education partners, delivering comprehensive and understandable information on study options, admission criteria, and visa processes.
• Engage proactively in marketing initiatives and events to attract leads, increase brand presence, and meticulously maintain CRM records for effective pipeline management.
• Work closely with internal teams and external education institutions to streamline application procedures and efficiently resolve student inquiries to ensure a seamless enrolment process.
• Identify opportunities for customer referrals and repeat business to foster ongoing growth and enhance customer loyalty for IDP.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in customer-focused sales or service roles, consistently meeting individual and team objectives in competitive environments.
• Familiarity with the education sector, especially in placing students in Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and universities, including knowledge of applicable immigration rules and application processes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in education counselling, student services, or related fields, accompanied by previous professional experience in similar roles within the local context.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with proficient English fluency, both written and spoken, facilitating effective interaction with a broad international student base and educational stakeholders.
• Additional language skills, particularly Vietnamese, are highly advantageous for engaging specific student communities.
• Strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities within a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
