Early Years Educator

About the Role

Ferndale Crèche & Montessori, located in Drogheda, Co. Louth, is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and reliable Early Years Educator to become part of our seasoned team. Established in 2002, we are a family-operated, purpose-built early childhood facility committed to providing a nurturing and inviting atmosphere where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and flourish through play.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining a secure, caring, and inclusive setting for all children.
• Designing and implementing age-appropriate, play-centered educational activities.
• Monitoring children’s progress and contributing insights to learning records and curriculum development.
• Supporting each child's individual needs, interests, and daily routines.
• Fostering positive connections with children, their families, and fellow staff members.
• Ensuring high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness are upheld.
• Adhering to Ferndale’s policies alongside all pertinent Tusla guidelines and regulations.
• Engaging in team meetings, skill development sessions, and ongoing professional training.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of at least a QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Learning and Care or an equivalent DCEDIY-recognised credential.
• A passionate commitment to working with young children.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate well within a team.
• A warm, patient, and professional demeanor.
• Familiarity with the frameworks of Aistear, Síolta, and child-centered practice.
• Previous experience in an early childhood environment is advantageous.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position requiring at least 35 hours of work weekly. Salary is contingent on experience and qualifications.
