Early Childhood Teacher

Role Overview

Harmony Early Education is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join its Burleigh Heads centre. This position is suited to someone who views teaching as purposeful work and enjoys creating engaging learning spaces where children can investigate, ask questions, and develop with confidence.

In this role, you will be trusted to guide your studio as a key pedagogical leader for your age group, helping children build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

What You Will Do

• Lead the studio through purposeful, play-based, and inquiry-led teaching.
• Advocate for children’s voices, rights, cultural backgrounds, and individual identities.
• Design, record, and evaluate learning experiences with depth and intention.
• Develop positive, respectful connections with children and their families.
• Work in close partnership with the Educational Leader and teaching team.
• Set up learning spaces that encourage creativity, challenge ideas, and support joyful discovery.
• Weave the EYLF v2.0 and QKLG into everyday learning opportunities.
• Help children with transitions, school readiness, and continuity in learning.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reflective practice, and sound ethical judgment.

About You

You are an educator who notices potential in every child and enjoys guiding learning with care and intent.

• You hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or an ACECQA-approved equivalent.
• You have strong knowledge of EYLF v2.0, QKLG, and current early childhood pedagogy.
• You are passionate about intentional teaching, play-based learning, and inquiry.
• You bring a reflective, collaborative, and curious mindset.
• You communicate clearly and build strong relationships with others.
• You are committed to child safety and cultural safety.
• You present a warm, engaging manner that children respond to naturally.

Centre Context

Harmony Burleigh Heads is located near the beach and is a 111-place centre across three carefully designed levels. The setting includes natural outdoor play areas with real grass, sand, and gardens, creating a space where children can explore, imagine, and learn through nature.

Additional Information

This is a part-time, onsite role in Burleigh, Queensland, Australia. The position is focused on early childhood teaching within a centre environment that supports intentional learning, rich play, and strong relationships.
