About the Role
Become a critical part of The Seaboard Transport Group as a Driver Coach, driving safety measures, operational excellence, and performance improvements across the transportation network. This position acts as the central hub for gathering and analyzing driver performance data and real-time fleet metrics, facilitating driver success, supporting operational teams, and fostering a safety-first, accountable culture.
Work Details
Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Work setting: In-office
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Corporate Driver Performance Scorecard program by tracking performance and assigning incentives based on set criteria.
- Handle driver concerns related to their scorecard outcomes and incentive payments effectively.
- Provide performance reports to both drivers and operational teams.
- Analyze and report real-time data collected from onboard truck computers.
- Maintain active communication with drivers and operational teams to ensure adherence to operational protocols, offering coaching, education, and support when required.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure compliance with corporate safety and operational standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in a related field is beneficial.
- Comfort with roles involving extensive communication.
- Strong analytical skills for handling and interpreting large volumes of data from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Windows operating systems and web-based software platforms.
- Familiarity with Fleet Manager systems such as PeopleNet is a strong advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in transportation is an asset.
- Being bilingual in English and French is considered an added benefit.
