Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable Drilling Rig Foreman to lead daily drilling and workover tasks on land rigs. The ideal candidate will manage field operations, ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols, coordinate resources, and supervise contractor performance, with a strong focus on leadership, technical acumen, and operational safety.

Primary Duties

  • Manage and oversee all drilling and workover operations on land-based rigs.
  • Ensure compliance of rig staff and service providers with company HSE policies, industry rules, and operational standards.
  • Assess contractor performance to ensure alignment with contracts, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate supply and delivery of drilling materials, tools, and services to maintain continuous operations.
  • Work closely with drilling engineers and technicians to enforce optimal drilling procedures and improve performance.
  • Review and authorize daily drilling logs and operational records.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of drilling machinery and rig systems to reduce downtime.
  • Analyze operational challenges and propose alternative solutions or equipment where needed.
  • Confirm that blowout prevention devices are set up, tested, and maintained according to industry standards.
  • Drive safety initiatives, perform site inspections, and foster a culture of safety throughout rig activities.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support drilling operations.

Qualifications

  • Either a minimum of 13 years' experience in drilling and workover operations with significant supervisory background from progressive field positions, or
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering combined with at least 7 years of experience including supervisory roles on land drilling or workover rigs.

  • Strong grasp of health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making aptitude under pressure.
  • Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
  • Ability and readiness to operate in remote locations with rotational camp setups.
