Domestic Logistics Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Domestic Logistics Manager to lead daily domestic shipping activities for a portfolio of key retail accounts. This role requires active leadership in managing logistics coordinators, collaborating with carriers, brokers, and warehouses, and ensuring all shipments comply with retailer standards while being accurate and punctual. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-focused, and adept at juggling multiple accounts alongside team oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all assigned domestic retail accounts daily to ensure efficient order processing and timely dispatch.
• Continuously monitor order progress, proactively addressing delays, discrepancies, or compliance issues.
• Oversee correct and timely order routing, coordinating with logistics contacts to resolve any shipment issues.
• Administer direct fulfillment and dropship orders, guaranteeing prompt transmission to warehouse partners by daily deadlines.
• Split oversized shipments appropriately to keep orders within single truckload limits.
• Engage daily with carriers, brokers, and warehouse personnel to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
• Choose suitable carriers and shipping methods to optimize cost-effectiveness and delivery reliability.
• Confirm daily pickups and follow up on delayed orders as needed.
• Ensure accurate entry of all order data into logistics management systems.
• Submit Advanced Shipping Notices within prescribed retailer deadlines.
• Complete daily order closures and invoicing upon shipment confirmation.
• Track shipments from origin to delivery, proactively coordinating with carriers to maintain on-time performance.
• Provide daily operational reports covering order statuses, shipment progress, and existing challenges.
• Alert internal sales teams promptly about delays or the need for schedule adjustments.
• Remain updated on all retailer-specific shipping, routing, and compliance guidelines to prevent penalties.
• Supervise, train, and support a team of Domestic Logistics Coordinators, managing time-off approvals and ensuring adequate staffing coverage.
• Maintain open communication channels with team members and senior leadership to resolve questions and concerns swiftly.
• Regularly monitor logistics-related emails for shipment updates, order modifications, and status alerts.
• Contribute to broader supply chain projects and cross-departmental initiatives when required.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in domestic logistics, transportation management, or supply chain roles.
• Ability to multitask effectively between coordinator support, problem-solving, and managing personal workload.
• Excellent communication and strong leadership skills specifically in domestic logistics management.
• Experience managing full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments including carrier selection, routing strategy, and order segmentation.
• Demonstrated expertise in maintaining retail account compliance for major national retailers.
• Proven leadership in supervising and developing logistics teams.
• Strong organizational aptitude to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with logistics management software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Attention to detail paired with a strong drive for urgency and task completion.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity working with large-scale and specialty retail clients regarding routing and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of dropship and direct fulfillment processes within logistics operations.
• Experience handling Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and retailer-specific Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements.
