About the Role
Joining as a Dispenser in one of our retail locations in the UK, you will play a vital role within the pharmacy team. You will assist the pharmacist and other healthcare staff to ensure the safe and efficient provision of pharmacy and health services.
Based in the healthcare section of the store, your daily activities will include building strong relationships with patients through attentive listening and understanding their health needs. Duties range from welcoming customers, handling prescription dispensing, and safely managing medicine sales, to offering knowledgeable advice to help patients make informed health decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately, ensuring medications are supplied safely by ordering, labeling, endorsing, and managing prescription collection.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver and manage pharmacy services within the store.
- Provide patients with guidance on medications and direct any complex queries to the pharmacist.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures rigorously to guarantee safe and lawful dispensing practices.
- Stay informed about new in-store innovations and comply with all operational processes.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions effectively, promoting medication adherence and minimizing waste.
You will also work with advancing technologies aimed at improving traditional dispensing procedures, enhancing patient safety, and allowing more patient interaction time.
Training and Career Development
Regular training sessions will keep you updated on the latest healthcare knowledge. There are multiple career development opportunities including pathways to become a Pharmacy Technician or stepping into store leadership roles.
Requirements
- Have completed or be actively pursuing a Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification (or equivalent) or be in the first year of an MPharm program.
- Possess valid UK work authorization; note this position does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in community pharmacy is highly desirable.
Benefits
- Discretionary Christmas gift payment.
- Generous employee discounts.
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave pay along with gift cards for expectant or adopting parents.
- Participation in a flexible benefits program.
- Access to a free 24/7 counseling and support service via an Employee Assistance Program.
Additional flexible benefits are available to suit individual needs.
