Job Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing all internal warehouse activities, including meticulous stock verification, receiving, and efficient job allocation to support staff to maximize productivity. The Dispatcher will coordinate closely with storekeepers to ensure smooth order preparation and invoicing processes.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assume responsibility for the shift by documenting all outstanding tasks from the previous shift.
- Oversee loading and unloading operations, ensuring accurate completion of checklists and reporting to storekeepers.
- Assign tasks to warehouse labor.
- Supervise stock handling during loading, promptly reporting any discrepancies such as incorrect case counts, missing items, excess items, or empty pallets.
- Conduct daily physical inventory counts to reconcile stock levels and report findings to the storekeeper.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with all hygiene processes as per the checklist.
- Collaborate with forklift operators to optimize storage and manage goods movement, facilitating the First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) procedure.
- Effectively hand over the shift to the incoming team, detailing pending jobs and any specific instructions.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained in good working order, used appropriately, and that periodic maintenance is logged.
- Implement, sustain, and actively participate in the continuous improvement of the EHS Management System within the area of responsibility, aligning with legislation, PepsiCo GEHSMS, and relevant EHS standards. Ensure all hazards and risks are controlled and EHS targets are met.
Additional Information
This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in a supply chain role, ideally within the FMCG sector. Prior experience in a labor-intensive environment is advantageous. A high school certificate in any field is required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of identifying and implementing corrective actions, possesses strong communication skills, and can effectively manage multiple labor functions. Flexibility in problem-solving and a broad understanding of cross-functional operations are essential.
