This part-time, on-site dishwasher role is based at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The position is part of a food service operation where cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth kitchen support are essential. Work schedules vary by shift and may include different days and hours; being available across a broad schedule is preferred, and additional details will be shared during the interview.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is between $13.00 and $14.00 per hour.
What the job involves
In this role, you will help keep kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and ready for daily operations. Duties include washing dishes, cleaning food prep and storage areas, handling waste, maintaining equipment hygiene, and supporting setup and cleanup tasks as needed. Responsibilities can vary depending on the client site and operational needs.
- Wash dishes either manually or by using a dishwashing machine.
- Sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and otherwise maintain floors.
- Remove trash and waste to the proper disposal areas.
- Use designated cleaning chemicals to keep equipment sanitary.
- Restock everyday supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
- Move around frequently throughout the shift and be prepared for substantial walking.
- Remain on your feet for long periods, including shifts that may run beyond 8 hours.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Arrive on time and maintain dependable attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Take on other tasks as needed based on site requirements and business needs.
What you should bring
You should have either a high school diploma, a GED, or equivalent experience. Prior work experience in a similar role is not required. A working understanding of sanitation practices and basic food safety is important for success in this position.
