About the Role

This position is for a Director of People Analytics and Insights based in the United States. The role offers a chance to guide how organizations understand and enhance their workforce through insightful, data-driven approaches. You will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of people analytics, transforming detailed workforce data into actionable insights that influence key talent and organizational decisions.

Collaborating with departments such as People, Technology, Data, Finance, and business units, you will build scalable analytics capabilities and promote data-informed decision-making across the organization. This position blends strategic leadership, technical knowledge, and storytelling skills to help leaders grasp workforce trends and capitalize on opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people analytics strategy aligned with the company’s goals and workforce objectives.
  • Define and maintain critical workforce metrics centered on employee experience, engagement, retention, performance, diversity, mobility, and organizational wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and HR teams to pinpoint key talent questions and create analyses that deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Manage the prioritization of analytics requests balancing urgent business needs with long-term capability building.
  • Interpret complex workforce data to provide insights that facilitate strategic talent management, workforce planning, and organizational improvements.
  • Design and oversee employee surveys, engagement efforts, and other listening programs to gauge workforce sentiment.
  • Develop scalable reporting tools and dashboards that enhance access to meaningful workforce insights.
  • Implement and evolve data governance practices to maintain accuracy, ethical use, accessibility, and reliability of workforce data.
  • Assess existing analytics systems and identify opportunities for enhancements in data infrastructure and reporting.
  • Work closely with technology and data teams to elevate analytics infrastructure and reporting efficiency.
  • Promote data fluency throughout the organization by providing resources and guidance to help leadership interpret analytics effectively.
  • Create executive-level presentations and visualizations that clearly link data findings to business decisions.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in people analytics, AI, automation, and workforce intelligence to responsibly innovate analytics practices.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in people analytics, workforce analytics, business intelligence, or related analytics fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education and work experience.
  • Proven track record designing strategies, frameworks, or workforce intelligence solutions within people analytics.
  • Proficiency in analyzing employee and organizational data, with the ability to translate information into actionable insights.
  • Experience creating, administering, and evaluating employee surveys and organizational research projects.
  • Strong expertise in developing dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable software.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, capable of querying and integrating data from relational databases or analytical models.
  • High competency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for creating executive-level reporting materials.
  • Excellent analytical skills including multi-source data integration, pattern recognition, hypothesis testing, and interpretation.
  • Effective project management capabilities to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for influencing stakeholders and building trust.
  • An analytical mindset with a strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes including recruiting, onboarding, engagement, development, and retention.
  • Commitment to equitable talent management practices and experienced in analyzing workforce outcomes across diverse employee groups.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with HR data, HRIS tools such as Workday, employee listening platforms, data governance frameworks, measurement standards, and operational analytics.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven analytics tools and automation technologies and their responsible application is advantageous.
