Director - IT & Digital Transformation

Role Overview

Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is seeking a distinguished leader to spearhead the organization's comprehensive digital transformation initiatives. This position will oversee the formulation and implementation of enterprise-wide digital strategies aimed at advancing regulatory operations, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and data-informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the digital transformation roadmap in alignment with EDE’s strategic priorities and regulatory mandate.
• Drive modernization, system integration, and enhancement of enterprise platforms and regulatory technologies.
• Explore and implement cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics within EDE’s operations.
• Establish frameworks for digital governance, technology standards, policies, and performance assessment.
• Manage enterprise architecture, system interoperability, data management, and technology lifecycle planning.
• Lead digitalization and automation efforts for regulatory, administrative, and customer-centric workflows.
• Leverage data analytics and executive dashboard tools to facilitate evidence-based leadership decisions.
• Collaborate closely with business units to identify needs, reengineer processes, and integrate sustainable digital solutions.
• Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and business continuity standards are embedded across digital projects.
• Administer strategic technology programs including budgets, vendor relations, contracts, and implementation partnerships.
• Implement project governance, risk mitigation, quality control, and benefits realization measures.
• Champion digital adoption, organizational change management, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement.
• Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team specializing in digital transformation.
• Represent EDE in governmental committees, strategic alliances, and digital transformation forums.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Must be a UAE National holding a valid UAE Family Book.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Digital Transformation, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
• 12 to 15 years of experience in digital transformation, technology strategy, enterprise systems, or senior IT leadership roles.
• At least five years in senior leadership or managerial positions.
• Proven expertise in managing large-scale digital transformation and technology modernization projects.
• Strong familiarity with enterprise architecture, AI, automation, cloud infrastructure, system integration, and digital governance.
• Experience within government, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulatory sectors is advantageous.
• Capability to manage complex programs, budgets, external vendors, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• Strong skills in change management, stakeholder collaboration, and fostering digital adoption.
