Position Overview

Reporting directly to the President of UDST, the Director of Human Capital provides visionary leadership and strategic guidance in defining, evaluating, and achieving short and long-term human capital objectives. This role involves recommending initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent and fostering a culture of excellence while ensuring full compliance with Qatar's relevant legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation and execution of the Human Capital Directorate business plan aligned with UDST’s overall strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President, Support Services on Human Capital policy development and strategy implementation to ensure cohesion with university goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on strategic human capital matters, including talent management and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee all human capital functions including talent acquisition, talent management, Qatarization (localization), leadership development, employee relations, operations, and digital transformation.
  • Direct strategic workforce planning and recruitment, ensuring alignment of talent resources and adoption of best practices for career progression and succession planning.
  • Lead the crafting of comprehensive talent acquisition strategies in partnership with business unit leaders, focusing on senior executives, faculty, and staff recruitment to build a diverse, qualified talent pool.
  • Manage talent management programs aimed at boosting skills, competencies, and career growth to support UDST's performance and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement a performance management framework incorporating goal setting, appraisals, and feedback that fosters high performance and employee development across the university.
  • Oversee communication and enforcement of human capital policies and initiatives, promptly addressing employee concerns to maintain a positive working environment and elevate engagement.
  • Champion human capital digital transformation by structuring process data aligned with technology initiatives, ensuring thorough documentation and version control of automated processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or closely related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources or similar area is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in human capital or related fields, including a minimum of 5 years in managerial roles.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory.
