The Global E-commerce Commercial function supports the VP Global E-commerce, together with global functional leaders and regional hub leaders across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Its purpose is to shape global e-commerce strategy, steer commercial performance, and accelerate key growth programmes.
Key mission
As Director Global E-commerce Commercial Excellence, you will help define priorities, align cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure that strategic initiatives are translated into well-run execution. The role combines strategic planning, commercial performance management, stakeholder coordination, and leadership across global and regional teams.
Core responsibilities
- Work closely with the VP Global E-commerce and senior global leaders to shape the global e-commerce commercial strategy and set priorities.
- Build alignment on strategy, priorities, and initiatives across the wider global e-commerce commercial organization.
- Identify high-impact growth opportunities, develop investment cases, and manage the programme delivery of those initiatives with key stakeholders.
- Partner with finance, global leaders, and regional teams to track commercial results and prepare reporting for monthly business reviews.
- Lead the annual e-commerce budgeting and financial planning cycle, ensuring coordination between global and local planning, including budget and forecast processes.
- Create and maintain a regular communication and meeting rhythm across global and local commercial e-commerce teams.
- Define global commercial guidelines and guardrails and track how markets follow them.
- Prepare strategy materials and executive updates for senior leadership, including board-level audiences.
- Oversee strategic procurement activity so vendor spend delivers strong impact and value.
- Support the work of the Global Commercial Innovation Lead to make sure innovation investments are commercially effective.
- Coordinate global commercial leads, strategists, and project managers, aligning activities across dotted-line and direct reporting structures.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar strategic function, preferably from sporting goods, fashion, or FMCG. You should understand global e-commerce dynamics, market opportunities, and industry challenges, and be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
Additional expectations
The role calls for strong leadership, structured project management, sharp analytical thinking, and the ability to turn data into strategic direction. Clear communication, confident collaboration, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders are essential.
