Role Overview
The Director of Business Development will focus on identifying potential clients, building strong commercial relationships, and supporting clients throughout the full campaign lifecycle. This role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and innovative environment.
The position requires at least 5 years of experience in sales and business development, ideally with exposure to SaaS sales, enterprise sales, or technology sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective customers through online research, trade show attendee lists, referrals, professional directories, and direct investigation.
- Win new business through referrals, cold outreach, networking, trade shows, and regional business groups.
- Build lasting client partnerships by delivering high-quality service and tailoring interactions to each client’s industry and organization.
- Create and execute sales plans to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Drive consistent daily outreach to potential customers.
- Develop a strong sales pipeline and manage opportunities through every stage of the sales cycle.
- Prepare project budgets and write proposals.
- Clearly explain the company’s full range of services, strengths, advantages, and capabilities, and route opportunities to the appropriate specialist teams when needed.
- Align client expectations and advise on best-practice approaches.
- Handle pricing discussions and contractual matters.
- Travel for conferences and client meetings, both within the country and internationally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales and business development, preferably in enterprise, tech, or SaaS sales.
- Solid understanding of the full sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Experience managing complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.
