Role overview
This position sits within the Retail Banking department in the UAE and reports to the Sales Manager, Retail Banking. The role focuses on bringing in new customers, meeting sales goals, and representing the bank’s retail products in a professional and compliant manner.
Purpose of the role
The main objective is to grow the customer base and deliver assigned sales targets by promoting retail banking solutions such as credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, and mortgage finance. The role also requires strong customer service, accurate documentation, and adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
Core duties
- Identify prospective customers and win business through direct selling efforts.
- Promote and sell retail banking products, including credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, and mortgage finance.
- Create leads through networking, referrals, and field-based sales activity.
- Work toward monthly sales and revenue targets.
- Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Assess customer financial requirements and suggest appropriate banking products.
- Offer professional guidance during the full sales cycle.
- Follow up promptly to support satisfaction and successful onboarding.
- Spot cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across retail banking offerings.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and healthy conversion rates.
- Prepare complete and correct customer documentation before submission.
- Check customer eligibility and supporting papers in line with bank rules.
- Follow internal procedures and regulatory obligations carefully.
- Liaise with internal processing teams to keep applications moving efficiently.
- Provide post-sale support and respond to customer concerns in a timely way.
- Resolve queries quickly while sustaining a high service standard.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should hold either a Higher Secondary Certificate or a Bachelor’s degree. The role requires at least 2 years of UAE banking sales experience, and applicants must currently be employed with a bank or a banking brokerage firm. Prior selling experience in one or more of the following products is needed: credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, and mortgage finance.
Skills and competencies
The ideal candidate should bring strong selling and negotiation ability, along with solid customer relationship management skills. A results-driven mindset is important, as is the ability to handle demanding sales targets. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a service-first approach are essential. Knowledge of retail banking products, credit processing, and customer assessment methods will be valuable. The role also calls for proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus strong time management, organization, independence, and careful attention to document quality and compliance.
