Role summary
This position leads the end-to-end design, rollout, and delivery of industrial digital twin solutions across the full asset lifecycle. The focus is on dependable data integration, disciplined technical execution, and strong client interaction, with particular emphasis on AVEVA Asset Information Management (AIM), engineering data governance, and digital engineering workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Set the solution architecture and delivery approach for digital twin and asset information platforms, including data models, taxonomy design, and metadata quality.
- Work with Sales and Project Managers to build project scope, effort estimates, and technical deliverables.
- Partner with data science teams to bring predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and engineering insights into the twin.
- Set up and configure AVEVA AIM, covering data ingestion, model organization, dashboards, and search functions.
- Connect engineering, maintenance, and operations data such as P&IDs, 3D models, CMMS, historians, DCS, IoT, SCADA tags, and documents.
- Run on-site and remote validation, configuration, commissioning, and user acceptance testing.
- Create and apply governance frameworks, class libraries, and information standards such as ISO 15926, CFIHOS, ISA-95/ISA-88, OPC UA, and BIM/ISO 19650.
- Coordinate with global engineering centers to maintain accuracy and quality across deliverables.
- Spot project risks and interoperability issues, then develop practical mitigation plans.
- Act as the main technical point of contact for customers, managing expectations and resolving issues.
- Ensure work follows engineering processes, cybersecurity requirements, and quality standards.
- Coach team members and help build engineering capabilities.
- Improve project margin by controlling cost, allocating resources efficiently, and minimizing rework.
Required experience and background
- Strong experience in industrial automation, engineering information systems, or digital transformation.
- Practical delivery experience with AVEVA AIM or a similar digital twin platform.
- Experience working with EPCs and owner-operators.
- Proven ability to lead customer conversations and resolve technical issues.
- Experience with risk reviews, data validation, and governance structures.
- Ability to manage licensing, upgrades, and compatibility across connected digital environments.
- Experience leading engineering change processes such as management of change, audit trails, and approvals.
- Background in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in global settings.
Technical skills and knowledge
- AVEVA Asset Information Management, including ADF loading, connectors, dashboards, class libraries, and data governance.
- Awareness of related platforms such as Hexagon SDx/SPF, Bentley iTwin/AssetWise, Siemens COMOS/Xcelerator, AspenTech APM, IBM Maximo, and SAP PM.
- Understanding of engineering deliverables including P&IDs, 3D models, datasheets, and tag lists.
- Working knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols and integration fundamentals.
- Experience with SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Python scripting.
- Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Awareness of OT/IT cybersecurity, historian data, DCS, and SCADA systems.
