Role overview

CHANEL is hiring an adaptable and change-oriented Digital Media Lead to shape digital strategy and innovation, with the goal of delivering strong campaigns in market.

In this role, you will link digital media, .com, and e-business activities. You will use your expertise to develop strategy and planning structures, work with cross-functional and divisional stakeholders to turn business objectives into digital campaign results, and plan approaches that improve paid search and performance. You will also handle external vendor management, including influence and negotiation.

Key impact areas

You will lead the digital workflow with the media agency to ensure smooth execution, while being responsible for delivering performance against agreed KPIs. The role reports to the Corporate Media Manager.

You will be a go-to source of digital media expertise across the business, with exposure to Connected Television, SEM, SEO, and performance marketing.

What you will do

  • Develop a roadmap for digital transformation, including milestones and initiatives tied to business priorities.
  • Understand each division’s goals, advertising direction, and role of digital within the wider media communication strategy.
  • Adapt corporate, campaign, and e-business guidelines as directed by regional and global media teams.
  • Help shape the annual media strategy framework in line with global presentations.
  • Design integrated digital campaign strategies using a full-funnel approach and traffic acquisition planning.
  • Use first-party data and media agency planning tools to validate and refine strategy decisions.
  • Own the local paid search strategy and ensure strong agency execution.
  • Train and support internal teams to strengthen their digital knowledge and awareness of market trends.
  • Work with divisional marketing and product teams, as well as Fragrance and Beauty e-business, to align campaign outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Media Manager on digital budget planning, tracking, and reporting.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Media, or a related field.
  • Google Ads Certification, along with practical experience in SEM and SEO.
  • Several years of experience in digital media, ideally including both in-house and agency environments.
  • Background in planning and delivering digital marketing and performance media strategies that support e-commerce growth.
  • Luxury sector experience will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem and how channels work together.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to different audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and process skills.
  • Strong capability with analytics, tracking, and reporting.
  • A results-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Good judgment and sensitivity when managing relationships.
  • A highly collaborative style, with care for protecting brand equity through thoughtful actions.
  • Experience with media planning tools and ad servers such as Ads Manager platforms, Google Analytics, and IAS Dashboard.
  • Knowledge of DMP, DSP, and CDP platforms, along with current and emerging practices.
