Job description

Role Overview

milk + honey is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager in Austin, TX to lead the full digital growth engine rather than simply execute pre-set campaigns. This role is centered on ownership of the customer journey, finding high-potential growth opportunities, and using data to continuously improve the channels that drive acquisition and retention.

The right person will act like a growth leader: proactive, opinionated, and comfortable bringing evidence-based recommendations forward without waiting for direction.

Growth and Channel Management

  • Take charge of major digital acquisition and retention channels, including paid social, search, email/SMS, organic, and retargeting.
  • Build and run a disciplined testing program, with multiple experiments happening in parallel, such as ad creative A/B tests and landing page conversion improvements.
  • Spot and resolve attribution issues, including cookie consent gaps and GTM container problems, to maintain accurate visibility into guest acquisition costs.

Strategic Leadership and Advocacy

  • Anticipate market shifts and identify new growth opportunities before they become widely recognized.
  • Serve as the internal champion for growth by proposing new initiatives, budget changes, and strategic pivots based on performance results.
  • Maintain a rolling 90-day roadmap that keeps high-impact work prioritized and visible.

Lifecycle, CRM, and Direct Mail

  • Support the direction of the lifecycle marketing program, using Klaviyo as the central system connected with Zenoti, email, SMS, paid social, and direct mail.
  • Once the lifecycle architecture is in place, operate the program in a test-and-learn mode by refining workflows, triggers, and messaging based on early performance data.

Website, SEO, and E-commerce

  • Lead the final phase of the new website launch and coordinate across internal stakeholders and outside agencies to keep the rollout on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify and remove conversion barriers so the site can generate measurable improvement from launch onward.
  • Ensure website content is structured for both AI Engine Optimization and conventional SEO.
  • Set a performance baseline after launch, compare new results against prior benchmarks, and produce a detailed report highlighting technical and design opportunities.
  • Use A/B testing, heatmaps, and funnel optimization to continuously improve the post-launch site experience.
  • Develop a keyword-led content strategy using search demand and competitive gap analysis to brief content that ranks for valuable non-branded terms.
  • Drive e-commerce growth after the website launch and the move to Shopify, including digital product revenue, conversion rate, and average order value.
  • Design the cross-sell strategy that turns service guests into repeat product buyers and help optimize the Shopify catalog for a smooth customer experience.
  • Support Amazon Marketplace work for the 50 Pound Boson partnership in coordination with the Product Manager, ensuring catalog quality and advertising efficiency remain profitable.

Management and Execution

  • Own performance budgets, including ongoing optimization and reallocation to support business goals.
  • Maintain live dashboards so leadership has a daily and weekly view of performance.
  • Share learnings from digital experiments with the broader marketing team to shape company-wide decisions.
  • Directly lead and coach the Email & Marketing Operations team member, with responsibility for their output, technical quality, and growth.
  • Manage external agencies and partners, holding them accountable to KPIs and ensuring they function as a true extension of the internal team.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, or growth-focused roles.
  • A highly proactive, self-directed mindset with a strong focus on optimization and continual improvement.
  • Comfort using GA4, Looker, and Excel to analyze performance, spot patterns, and uncover actionable insights.
  • Ability to turn complex data into clear, persuasive stories that support decisions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, especially when sharing findings, recommendations, and performance updates with stakeholders.
  • Confidence to call out when a strategy is not working and to recommend practical next steps.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Meta and Google ad platforms, native ad managers, GA4, Looker, Asana, Monday.com, HubSpot, and Klaviyo.
