About the Role

Join WSP New Zealand as a Digital Engineering Lead specializing in water projects, based in Christchurch. This key position offers a chance to influence national digital engineering practices, combining hands-on project involvement with leadership responsibilities in shaping standards, tools, and work methodologies to enhance quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support for digital delivery on water infrastructure projects, including contributions to modeling, design, and technical outputs.
  • Develop and implement consistent modeling standards and workflows to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on digital engineering for the Water Leadership Team.
  • Drive enhancements in digital tools, systems, and processes to boost project efficiency and outcomes.
  • Mentor and build digital capability across project teams nationwide.
  • Support adoption of ISO 19650-aligned practices for digital information management.
  • Participate in establishing strategic direction for digital engineering in the water sector.
  • Improve client satisfaction through reliable and innovative digital delivery methods.

Candidate Profile

  • Comprehensive experience in digital engineering within water or infrastructure domains, with expertise using Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D.
  • Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation and embedding best practice workflows and quality standards.
  • Active, hands-on contribution style combined with coaching and team development skills.
  • Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders, including project teams and senior leadership.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in digital engineering.
  • Tertiary engineering qualification preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
