Job Purpose

This role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by conducting safety observations, reporting hazards, and promoting safety awareness among all personnel. The position involves implementing and monitoring safety management systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and coordinating safety activities across the unit.

Key Result Areas

• Conduct safety observation rounds and CFSA at the workplace.
• Report near misses, opportunities for improvement (OFI), and Kaizen initiatives regularly.
• Identify and report hazards, ensuring timely compliance with corrective actions.
• Ensure 100% adherence to safety-related statutory requirements as per state rules and the Factory Act.
• Organize and conduct safety promotion activities and motivational programs for employees and contract workers.
• Implement and manage Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with audit findings.
• Effectively implement progressive consequence management and safety systems in correspondence with Factory Inspector requirements.
• Ensure 100% compliance with electrical, Lockout/Tagout (LOTOTO), road safety, and hot work standards through effective functioning of standard champion teams.
• Implement revised safety standards and enhance safety through digitalization.
• Coordinate and monitor with standard champions, subcommittee chairmen, and line managers to embed safety standards and a safety culture within the unit.
• Participate in all subcommittee meetings, regularly monitor, and review key performance indicators (KPIs) for each safety standard and compliance of meeting outcomes.
• Finalize safety specifications for major equipment.
• Develop and implement safety practices for site execution and plant operations (pre and post-commissioning).
• Monitor safety systems implemented by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Project Execution teams.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and specifications set by the Design team during equipment erection.

• Coordination and monitoring with standard champions & Subcommittee chairmen along with the line mangers to Implement safety standards and safety culture in unit.
• Coordination and participation in all sub committes meeting, Regular monitoring & review Key performance of each safety standards and subcommittee meeting outcomes compliances.
• Finalization of safety specifications required for the main equipment.
• Develop safety practices for implementation at site.
• Monitor the safety systems implemented by the OEM & Project Execution teams.
• Ensuring that the standards / specifications fixed by the Design team related to safety is adhered during the equipment erection.
• Generate the safety practices for the project execution.
• Generate the safety practices for the plant ( post & pre commissioning).
