Role summary

The Designer Representative is a proactive, self-driven professional who combines relationship management, customer service, and consultative selling. The role centers on supporting builder accounts, guiding each project from order creation through completion, and delivering precise design layouts. It also involves spotting opportunities to recommend upgrades, add-on products, and extra services that improve the client experience and contribute to revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect customer choices and project specifications.
  • Take field measurements as needed.
  • Create accurate designs and layouts using 20/20 software.
  • Prepare clear and correct pricing and quotations.
  • Look for opportunities to suggest additional products, upgrades, and services that add value for customers and support sales growth.
  • Build orders and plans as required and coordinate with estimating teams so documents are accurate and ready for purchase release.
  • Review and approve all components needed to complete orders before sending them to purchasing.
  • Resolve concerns and questions raised by builders and homeowners.
  • Visit jobsites to verify work is completed properly.
  • Keep all job records up to date and accurate.

Supervisory responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Construction background is an advantage.
  • Experience with 20/20 software is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Comfortable managing several projects at once.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently and accurately, and complete design work within deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, design-oriented, solution-focused, and driven to succeed.
  • Experience working with customers and contractors to develop floor plans and design concepts.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to remain seated at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and reach with the hands and arms.
  • Capability to move between offices, handle mail and documents, and perform tasks requiring sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds.
  • Good visual ability to distinguish quality differences in documents and files.
