Job Description

The Design Head for Roads will spearhead the strategic planning and development of highway and structural designs, ensuring adherence to established standards, enhancing project success, and generating economically viable solutions. The role involves directing project execution and liaising with clients, incorporating innovative technology for efficient, compliant infrastructure, and upholding high quality standards collaborating with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed highway designs and provide expert engineering inputs at both pre-bid and construction phases.
• Ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards such as IRC/IRS codes.
• Oversee and monitor highway design activities to guarantee precision and quality.
• Conduct independent analyses and assignments related to highway design for optimized project results.
• Review and approve structure designs for highway construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety, economic, and environmental standards.
• Manage revisions of structural drawings for contracted projects and document structural design records systematically.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external parties including consultants and client (NHAI) representatives for project approvals and progress alignment.
• Supervise and mentor the design team, ensuring projects meet timeline commitments and quality benchmarks.
• Drive delivery of cost-effective design strategies that align with client expectations and project needs.
• Optimize design workflows to reduce expenditure without compromising quality.
• Stay informed on industry developments, market trends, and competitive landscape to guide innovative and efficient design business approaches.
• Apply state-of-the-art technologies and inventive design ideas to boost operational efficiency and cost advantages.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.

Experience: 20 to 25 years of substantial experience in construction and infrastructure development is required.
