Role overview
Glanua is hiring a Design Co-ordinator for its regional office in Ballincollig, County Cork. This is a full-time onsite position offering a competitive salary. The role sits at the centre of project design activity and involves coordinating information, people, and processes to keep delivery moving smoothly.
What you will do
- Work in close partnership with clients, client representatives, and external agencies to keep design activity aligned.
- Help create a positive experience for clients by encouraging collaboration and a cooperative working style.
- Run internal, client, and third-party design meetings, making sure actions are captured and followed through promptly.
- Coordinate with the design manager and site team to prepare and organise design submissions.
- Set up weekly coordination meetings with the site team to monitor design outputs against deliverables and the project programme.
- Track mark-ups, issues, and reviews, and escalate matters that need attention.
- Review and compile drawings and documentation for internal approvals and client acceptance through gateway processes.
- Work with the BIM coordination team and design manager so files are correctly named and stored in line with the company quality system.
- Support the creation and ongoing updating of 3D models as construction progresses, carrying out regular model checks and ensuring changes are reflected.
- Coordinate the preparation of as-built drawings.
- Work with the design certifier, assigned certifier, and subcontractors to ensure BCAR requirements are followed for buildings.
- Make sure health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards are considered in proposed designs.
- Carry out site visits where needed to support delivery.
- Contribute ideas to improve design delivery by sharing lessons learned and practical innovations for future projects.
- Stay up to date with current standards and technology through continuous professional development.
- Take on other tasks as required.
What you need
- Prior experience in design coordination or a similar design-focused role.
- Working knowledge of construction projects and construction-related activity.
- Strong planning and organisational ability.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Comfort managing several design information streams at once.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Experience with ACC/BIM360 is an advantage.
