About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Wynn Al Marjan Island, set to open in 2027, will be the UAE's first integrated resort located in Ras Al Khaimah, about 50 miles from Dubai International Airport. The resort features 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 dining outlets, a theater, a beach club, multiple pools, a luxury spa and salon, a shopping promenade, and an events center.
Position Overview
The resort is seeking a Deputy Stage Manager to join the Theater Operations team, playing a key role in supporting performance and rehearsal management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Stage Manager in overseeing daily rehearsals and live performances.
- Lead rehearsals when required, including calling cues under show-like conditions.
- Possess thorough knowledge of lifts, winches, scenic components, and illusions.
- Facilitate show cues and ensure coordination of technical and performance aspects.
- Assist with deck track operations during shows as necessary.
- Help create and distribute daily rehearsal schedules.
- Assist in managing performers across theater levels and device coordination.
- Provide sound support during rehearsals when needed.
- Maintain and manage cast line-ups and support performer rotations.
- Manage daily sign-in documentation and administrative duties.
- Ensure performer safety, time management, and efficient communication alongside the Stage Manager.
- Collaborate on rehearsing and implementing safety protocols.
- Help troubleshoot during performances and communicate any issues promptly.
- Orient new performers, including conducting theater tours and informing them of schedules and stage protocols.
- Support the Stage Manager with updating the Stage Management bible and coordinating information across technical departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience is mandatory; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least four years of management experience as a Deputy Stage Manager in large-scale theatrical or production shows involving automated systems is required.
- Experienced in working with diverse cast members and knowledgeable in automation, rigging, lighting, audio, and carpentry to maintain a safe environment.
- Experience with illusions is advantageous.
- Ability to read music is necessary.
- Demonstrated capacity to discipline performers and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills to direct and motivate performers.
