About the Role

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) seeks a seasoned executive to join as Deputy Chief Operating Officer. This impactful position involves collaborating closely with the Chief Operating Officer to lead critical organizational functions, influence strategic directives, and foster a culture of operational excellence within the Pacific Northwest's power sector. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate at the national level with senior officials, including the Department of Energy, shaping regional strategies aligned with federal energy policies.
• Provide executive leadership and advisory support to vice presidents managing essential business divisions such as Power Services, Transmission Services, and Environment, Fish, and Wildlife.
• Champion large-scale organizational transformation initiatives by integrating people, processes, and technology for improved operational efficiency.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement measures to optimize workflows, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Oversee allocation and management of financial resources, staffing, and budgets to maximize organizational effectiveness.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture focused on talent development, performance standards, and equitable career advancement opportunities.
• Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with federal agencies, state and local governments, and regional bodies to advance critical energy initiatives.
• Ensure the organization meets its commitments to economic prosperity and environmental stewardship within the Pacific Northwest community.

Qualifications and Conditions

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens and comply with Selective Service registration if applicable.
• Employment requires onsite presence at the official duty location in Portland, OR.
• Candidates are expected to pass drug testing protocols, a medical examination, and obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance due to the sensitive nature of the position.
• A minimum of one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 federal service level is essential, specifically experience in strategic business planning, operational leadership of diverse units, and senior-level representation in negotiation contexts.
• No formal education requirement or substitution for experience is mandated.
