Job Summary and Key Responsibilities
The role involves delivering courteous and professional customer service, supporting all meat department operations, and stepping in to supervise staff in the absence of the Meat Manager. The position emphasizes fostering a positive work culture focused on coaching, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide attentive and friendly customer service tailored to client needs.
- Oversee and manage meat department personnel when Meat Manager is unavailable.
- Encourage a coaching-driven and developmental workplace culture among employees.
- Process and fulfill customer meat orders accurately.
- Receive and manage incoming meat orders efficiently.
- Execute daily preparation tasks related to meat products.
- Organize and merchandise the meat department to optimize presentation.
- Implement SMART retailing strategies as specified (Atlantic region).
- Maintain rigorous sanitation and hygiene standards within the department.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.
- Carry out administrative tasks as needed.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- At least 12 months of relevant experience in meat handling or retail.
- Capacity to work autonomously within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent work ethic with the capability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
