Department Manager

Role Overview

This position is for a Department Manager based in Gurugram, Haryana. The role focuses on driving sales, managing the floor, coordinating staff, and ensuring an excellent in-store customer experience within a retail environment.

Experience and Education

Candidates should have at least 2 years of team-handling experience, preferably in retail. A graduate degree is required; an MBA is also acceptable.

Key Responsibilities

• Work toward achieving the department’s sales goals.
• Create, share, and monitor the sales plan so targets are met.
• Make sure the sales floor follows the approved planogram.
• Keep adequate staff available at all times.
• Ensure products are displayed neatly and are easily accessible to customers.
• Communicate and maintain the visual merchandising plan, including replenishment as needed.
• Manage inventory by tracking the top 5 styles in each sub-department.
• Share feedback with the merchandiser based on store performance and observations.
• Deliver timely and efficient customer service.
• Lead and coordinate the team effectively.
• Support the growth and development of team members.
• Identify training and development needs for subordinates.
• Study competitor activity through regular market/competition surveys.
• Monitor and reduce shrinkage.
