Job description

Role Overview

JW Marriott in Doha is hiring a Demi Chef de Partie for a full-time, non-management position at its Conference Centre Street property in West Bay. This role is focused on preparing high-quality food items, supporting kitchen operations, and maintaining the standards expected in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Duties

  • Cook special dishes and substitute menu items when required.
  • Set and control oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures accurately.
  • Move frozen ingredients to refrigeration so they can thaw safely.
  • Plate food with the correct portions, arrangement, and garnishing standards.
  • Keep food production logs up to date.
  • Check the quality and quantity of prepared food throughout service.
  • Coordinate with others during peak periods when additional help is needed.
  • Advise the Chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials.
  • Inform service teams about menu specials and unavailable items.
  • Maintain food quality at all times.
  • Prepare and cook items according to recipes, presentation guidelines, quality standards, and preparation checklists.
  • Prepare cold dishes as assigned.

  • Support managers with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, and team motivation.
  • Act as a positive example for other employees.
  • Build respectful working relationships and help the team work toward shared goals.
  • Listen to colleagues and respond appropriately to concerns.

Standards, Safety, and Conduct

  • Follow company policies along with safety and security procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Keep uniform and personal appearance neat and professional.
  • Protect confidential information and company property.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond professionally.
  • Use clear, courteous, and professional communication.
  • Maintain the quality standards and service expectations of the brand.
  • Be prepared for prolonged standing, sitting, or walking, and for movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Handle, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualification

Technical, trade, or vocational school education is preferred. The role requires at least 3 years of related work experience. No supervisory background is needed, and no license or certification is required.
