Role Overview

This position sits within the Food and Beverage / Culinary team in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite at Al Corniche Street. The position reports to the kitchen team and focuses on preparing high-quality food items in line with recipe standards, presentation expectations, and operating checklists.

Key Duties

• Prepare specialty dishes and substitute menu items when needed.
• Control the heat levels of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure proper cooking.
• Move frozen ingredients to refrigeration for safe thawing.
• Check portion sizes, food arrangement, and garnishing before service.
• Keep food production records and logs up to date.
• Track the quality and volume of food being prepared.
• Coordinate with the team when support is needed during peak service periods.
• Notify the Chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials.
• Update service staff on specials and any items that are unavailable.
• Cook and finish menu items according to recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation standards, and preparation checklists.
• Prepare chilled food items as required.

Team Leadership and Conduct

• Support management with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling, discipline, and employee coaching.
• Act as a positive example for others on the team.
• Follow company policies, as well as safety and security procedures at all times.
• Report equipment issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and keep personal presentation standards high.
• Protect confidential business information and safeguard company property.
• Respond to guest needs in a proactive and attentive manner.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and supervisors.
• Build cooperative working relationships and contribute to shared team goals.
• Listen carefully and respond appropriately to coworker concerns.

Physical and Job Requirements

• Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Reach above shoulder level and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without help.
• Carry out other reasonable responsibilities assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualification

The preferred education is a technical, trade, or vocational school degree. A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is necessary.
