Key Duties

• Deliver orders to customers within the assigned area by car.
• Operate store equipment and support routine store operations.
• Move stock from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the cooler.
• Prepare food items as needed.
• Answer phone calls and process customer orders.
• Track inventory and complete required paperwork.
• Keep equipment and the workplace clean, generally on a daily basis.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers as part of local outreach.
• Handle several deliveries during a shift when required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Need a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
• Should be able to read maps, find addresses, and navigate within the delivery zone.
• Must be comfortable working in varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, homes, stairs, and other delivery locations.
• Need the ability to follow written instructions and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
• Must be able to perform basic math quickly and accurately, including giving correct change.
• Should be able to take orders by phone and enter them using a keyboard or touchscreen.
• Must be able to work in changing weather and temperature conditions, including outdoor delivery work.
• Role requires physical activity such as standing, walking short distances, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, pushing, and climbing.
• May need to handle items weighing up to 50 pounds and navigate multiple flights of stairs while delivering.
• Should be able to work independently, under pressure, and in a team setting while maintaining quality standards.

Training

On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

Work Environment

• Work may involve exposure to heat, cold, sudden temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped spaces such as walk-in coolers.
• Some tasks may involve hot equipment or surfaces, including ovens reaching 500 degrees or more.
• Work may also include contact with sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Delivery and outside duties can involve bad weather conditions.

Physical Demands

• Most work is done while standing.
• Walking is usually limited to short distances and short periods.
• Some paperwork may be completed at a desk or table.
• Heavy items may be unloaded and stacked using a hand truck.
