The Deli Clerk role focuses on providing accurate, efficient, and professional support across the full scope of deli department duties. The position is centered on delivering strong customer service, building customer loyalty, meeting shopper needs, and helping create an engaged environment for both customers and coworkers.
Key duties
- Follow food safety rules, standard procedures, health and safety requirements, and all applicable corporate programs and policies.
- Assist customers promptly and make sure their deli needs are met.
- Keep the work area tidy, organized, and visually appealing.
- Take and complete deli orders from customers.
- Support product merchandising and routine program execution.
- Prepare and handle deli products according to department standards.
- Help drive sales by actively promoting featured products.
- Assist with training newer team members.
- Order and receive inventory in line with company stock control processes when required.
- Track and process department shrink.
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace in accordance with company expectations.
- Carry out additional related tasks as needed.
