About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to hone your customer service and retail skills. This role focuses on upholding Walmart's core values by delivering outstanding service in the deli department, maintaining its organization, assisting with inventory management, and facilitating product sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the deli department space efficiently.
• Regularly rotate stock and inspect products for expiration to ensure freshness.
• Ensure that all merchandise displays have correct signage and pricing.
• Follow regulations for cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, accurate temperature logging, proper food handling, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process deli merchandise orders by slicing and preparing items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken, and respond to customer inquiries and requests.
• Support front-end associates by assisting with price checks when needed.
• Prepare deli food orders using slicers, stackers, and other utensils; cook chicken appropriately using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers; and fill prepared salads and sides for display and special customer orders.
• Keep the deli workstation clean, tidy, and free from unnecessary debris, foreign objects, or liquids.

Compensation

The position offers a minimum hourly wage starting at 18.30 CAD.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
