About the Company

Okoa Float provides a convenient service allowing M-Pesa agents and sub-agents to quickly obtain float through their mobile phones and pay for it later by dialing *898# or visiting their website.

Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and meticulous Debt Collections Officer to join our expanding team. This role is vital in managing overdue accounts and ensuring payments are collected promptly while maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact assigned overdue accounts via phone and SMS to follow up on payments.
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive records of all collection efforts and client interactions.
  • Negotiate repayment plans and monitor compliance with agreed terms.
  • Record payment commitments, broken promises, and client feedback into the system.
  • Verify outstanding balances and customer details prior to starting recovery procedures.
  • Compile and present collection reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Identify accounts at high risk of default and suggest appropriate recovery strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client data and demonstrate professional behavior consistently.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training, and performance assessments aimed at boosting collection effectiveness and minimizing bad debt.
  • Work closely with other departments to reconcile account statements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any business-related field.
  • At least one year of experience in debt collection.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to achieve collection targets.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism, and great attention to detail.
