As a Receiving Associate, you will support store operations by handling incoming freight, checking merchandise for accuracy and condition, and keeping receiving activities organized and compliant with store procedures.
What You Will Do
You will work with a team to unload deliveries, verify quantities and quality, process incoming goods in the store system, and support freight movement to the proper staging areas. The role also includes using powered lift equipment and store tools to identify products, vendors, and locations so merchandise can be handled efficiently and customers receive strong service.
Receiving Duties
- Learn and follow the store’s receiving workflow to manage freight efficiently.

- Enter delivery details and pre-post information into the receiving system.
- Count carton freight and RGR merchandise to reconcile freight bills.
- Identify any damaged items and take the proper next steps.
- Keep the receiving area clean and orderly by removing pallets, cardboard, and other debris, and by using the compactor and bailer when needed.
Merchandising and Stock Support

- Set up new products, end caps, and promotional displays as directed.
- Clear trash and waste before the end of the shift.
- Maintain organized overhead storage areas, including striping overheads where required.
- Coordinate with Freight Team members so products are stocked in the correct locations.
- Share in-stock information with the Fulfillment Team.
Customer Interaction
- Consistently demonstrate GET behaviours during every shift.
- Approach and greet customers in a helpful manner.
- Ask open-ended questions, learn about customer projects, and adjust support based on their experience level and needs.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
This role involves frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items. You must be able to handle heavy and bulky merchandise without assistance, listen for announcements and service calls, work while standing and walking, read reports and labels, and climb ladders up to 12 to 16 feet. The environment may include dust, noise, drafts, uneven flooring caused by equipment traffic, slippery surfaces during wet weather, sharp tools, and materials that may contain hazardous substances.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required. At least 1 year of receiving experience is needed. Candidates must be licensed to operate powered lift equipment such as an electric pallet jack, reach truck, order puller, or forklift. Previous forklift experience is an added advantage.
