About the Role

This Day Porter position is part of the Facilities team, responsible for general housekeeping during business hours. A third-party contractor handles nightly cleaning of the office and warehouse. This is an onsite role located in Burnaby, BC, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of employee lunchroom kitchens and beverage areas, including servicing coffee machines and water coolers.
• Clean refrigerators, stock beverages, and manage dishwashers.
• Clean microwaves and other small kitchen appliances.
• Ensure general tidiness of meeting rooms, printer stations, and janitor rooms, including furniture arrangement.
• Manage inventory and restock janitorial supplies.
• Perform spot cleaning in washrooms, offices, and warehouse areas as needed.
• Liaise with the external janitorial company to address any quality control concerns.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing or healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated dependability, independence, flexibility, and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Physical capability to perform janitorial duties, including lifting up to 20 kg, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits

The total cash compensation for this role ranges from $22.00 to $26.00 CAD per hour, which includes a base salary and a 5% contribution to a Retirement Savings Plan. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. As a permanent employee, you will also be eligible for Kardium’s stock option plan.
