Job description

About the role

Diconium is hiring a Data Steward for its data studio in Hamburg. The company works on digital business transformation across many industries, helping organizations create value through software, data, and AI. The work is done in a collaborative, people-focused environment with a strong emphasis on flexibility, inclusion, and hybrid working.

This position sits within the data team and centers on metadata management and data modelling. You will help Data Owners gather metadata from source systems, bring it into Collibra, and shape data products that are useful, practical, and aligned with the Collibra Operating Model. Because the role is client-facing, clear communication and the ability to work smoothly with both technical and business stakeholders are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Record metadata and model data products within Collibra.
  • Assist Data Owners in collecting, transforming, and loading metadata into the Data Catalog.
  • Match metadata from different source systems to the correct Collibra data asset types.
  • Run interviews and onboarding conversations with Data Owners.
  • Define ownership and responsibility structures in Collibra, including domains, communities, and roles.
  • Build data products in Collibra that are aligned to specific business use cases.
  • Work closely with architects, developers, infrastructure and networking teams, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver work in a SAFe environment.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and data architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management.
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new tools and concepts.
  • Very good English skills.
  • Collibra experience, ideally including Collibra Data Steward certification.
  • Exposure to the Collibra Operating Model.
  • Understanding of data integration, interoperability, and Data Mesh principles.
  • Experience in SAFe or Scrum environments is an advantage.
  • German language skills at C1 level or higher are a plus.

What Diconium offers

  • Training opportunities, free language courses, competence centers, and access to an active tech community.
  • Hybrid work, workation options, flexible working hours, parental support, and sabbaticals.
  • Opportunities to participate in sustainability initiatives, diverse communities, a Diversity Taskforce, and after-work events.
  • Public transport tickets, bike benefits, health offerings, supplementary insurance, a pension plan, and employee discounts.

Values and equal opportunity

Diconium values different perspectives and experiences and treats every application fairly. The company rejects discrimination and harassment of any kind, including those based on gender, age, skin color, religion, sexual orientation, origin, disability, gender identity, and other protected characteristics.
