Role Overview

We are looking for Data Scientists at levels 2 through 4 to contribute to advanced analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects. The role focuses on developing and implementing AI and machine learning models on vast, intricate datasets, including both spoken and written language data. Key tasks involve creating and refining models for processes like tokenization, part-of-speech tagging, and benchmarking against human annotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models with emphasis on NLP applications.
• Develop automated procedures for processing, annotating, and analyzing language data.
• Analyze complex datasets to derive meaningful insights.
• Improve model accuracy via statistical assessment and benchmarking methods.
• Translate mission goals and analytic inquiries into technical solutions.
• Effectively communicate results to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
• Design reproducible workflows for data handling, modeling, and visualization.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with machine learning, data modeling, and sophisticated analytics.
• Proficiency in Python, particularly using Jupyter Notebooks.
• Knowledge of NLP techniques and tools.
• Skilled in data preparation including cleaning and transformation.
• Strong foundation in statistical methods including hypothesis testing and exploratory data analysis.
• Familiarity with large-scale data processing platforms such as Spark or cloud-based systems is advantageous.
• Understanding of SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate complex ideas clearly.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 15 years of experience depending on level.
• Associate’s degree with 5 to 17 years depending on level.
• Degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related disciplines are preferred. Candidates with other degrees must have significant coursework in advanced math or computer science or possess a Data Science certificate.

Additional Requirements

A Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with Polygraph is mandatory.

Compensation Details

The compensation depends on labor category and contract specifics, with consideration of skills, education, and experience. Salary range: $111,000 to $234,000 annually.
