Job description
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a compact, fully remote software agency specializing in practical business tools rather than flashy consumer applications. We develop admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations for clients who need reliable solutions instead of sprawling spreadsheets and disconnected software. Our philosophy emphasizes delivering working software quickly through fixed quotes, weekly demonstrations, and thorough handovers including code, documentation, and walkthrough videos. We rely on stable, proven technologies like Node, React, and Postgres to ensure maintainability and reliability.
Role Overview
As a Data Analytics Intern, you will contribute to a large-scale project for a prominent British financial organization by organizing fragmented datasets into coherent, usable formats. Your daily activities will include examining large volumes of transaction data and internal metrics to ensure consistency, removing duplicates, filling gaps, and moving data between systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with developers to build accurate internal dashboards and reporting tools, aiming to provide clear and actionable insights for our client’s operations teams. Delivering clear documentation and explanatory videos is a critical component given our remote setup.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail when handling numerical and spreadsheet data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce clear recorded updates.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how disparate systems exchange data and for adopting new analytical tools.
- Basic understanding of data structures and a commitment to improving their efficiency.
- A preference for practical, results-driven work versus flashy or experimental projects.
- Self-motivation and effective time management suited for a remote working environment.
- Meticulous approach to verifying accuracy in your work before passing it to subsequent stages.
Beneficial Experience
- Basic familiarity with SQL querying and relational databases such as Postgres.
- Intermediate skills in Excel or Google Sheets beyond simple list management.
- Some exposure to programming languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Understanding of version control systems, specifically GitHub.
- Experience with data visualization tools or building internal reporting dashboards.
- Knowledge of API functionality for software integration.
Working at Pixel Systems
Unlike large corporations, Pixel Systems operates with minimal management layers and avoids protracted meetings. Our communication is predominantly asynchronous and transparent, requiring honesty about progress and challenges. The role is fully remote, allowing flexibility to work from anywhere. We offer competitive compensation and the opportunity to engage in meaningful real-world projects that impact a major financial client’s operations. We emphasize disciplined software development practices focused on stability and correctness.
Our team values craftsmanship and practical impact over office politics and drama. If you seek to join a small, remote team dedicated to solving genuine business challenges, Pixel Systems provides a supportive and rewarding environment. We maintain long-term client relationships by delivering reliable solutions and dedicated support.
