Data Analyst Smart Meters

Role Overview

MACH CONSULTANTS is looking for a Data Analyst focused on Smart Meter systems in Doha, Qatar. The role centers on building dependable data foundations for utility metering platforms, ensuring that information is organized, secure, and ready for analytics and operational monitoring.

What You Will Do

• Develop, support, and improve scalable data architecture for smart utility metering environments.
• Create and maintain reliable data pipelines that consolidate inputs from different sources into centralized metering platforms.
• Maintain strong standards for accuracy, consistency, uptime, and system performance for analytics and monitoring users.
• Design, tune, and administer databases built to manage high-volume utility meter data.
• Handle both streaming and scheduled batch processing needs.
• Work closely with IT, cybersecurity, and operations stakeholders to keep data movement secure and dependable.
• Track platform health and quickly address pipeline breakdowns, delays, and performance issues.
• Prepare and update documentation covering architecture, workflow steps, and operating procedures.
• Work in line with IT governance, information security, and ISO compliance expectations.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and business continuity readiness for data platforms.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by management.

Education and Experience

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline. A certification in cloud or data engineering from AWS, Azure, or GCP is considered beneficial. Candidates should bring at least 9 years of experience in data engineering or a comparable technical role.

Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate should be strong in data pipeline design, database management, and big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark. The role also calls for solid analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, system tuning skills, and clear communication in English. Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
