About the Role

This is a full-time remote opportunity for a motivated and detail-focused Sports Data Analyst / Performance Research Assistant. The role is suited to candidates who are interested in sports analytics and athlete performance improvement. You will gather, study, and interpret performance information to help shape training plans and support decision-making. The position involves working with coaches, sports scientists, and agents to turn data into practical insights that support athlete development.

Qualifications

• An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, sports science, or a similar discipline is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, ideally in a sports-related setting, is preferred.
• Strong ability to think analytically and evaluate information critically.
• Working knowledge of tools such as Excel, Tableau, or R for data analysis.
• Understanding of performance tracking systems and related software.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Comfort working independently while handling several tasks at the same time.
• Interest in sports, along with familiarity with performance metrics and training methods.

Responsibilities

• Gather and structure data from game footage, training activities, and performance-tracking platforms.
• Study data sets to spot patterns, trends, and opportunities to improve athlete output.
• Prepare reports and charts that clearly present findings to coaches and agents.
• Work with coaching and sports staff to build data-informed performance improvement plans.
• Research industry developments, new technologies, and best practices that can support better decisions.
• Help maintain databases and data systems used for ongoing analysis and reporting.
• Keep up with new developments in sports technology, analytical tools, and performance research methods.
