Position Overview
We are looking for a Data Analyst to develop and deliver scalable datasets, reports, and analytical solutions that empower data-driven decisions across the company. This role involves collaboration with business stakeholders to grasp requirements, translate them into actionable analytics, and provide accurate insights supporting both strategic and operational goals.
Key Duties
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand objectives, define data needs, and convert business questions into scalable analytics.
- Extract, integrate, validate, and analyze data from diverse internal and external sources to produce trusted datasets for reporting and decision-making.
- Create, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and analytical models leveraging BigQuery, Python, and other technologies.
- Design and sustain recurring and on-demand reports, dashboards, and other analytical tools that deliver valuable business insights.
- Verify data accuracy and integrity by reconciling across systems, identifying inconsistencies, and working with stakeholders to rectify data quality issues.
- Investigate data trends, patterns, and deviations, presenting findings through clear visualizations and executive-ready reports to inform decisions.
- Support cross-department initiatives involving data engineering, analytics, reporting, and migrations of data warehouse or mart systems.
- Contribute to building reusable data assets and feature stores to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with IT, Data, Finance, and other teams to provide analytic solutions aligned with company goals.
- Continuously update skills with emerging data technologies and seek opportunities to improve data processes and reporting capabilities.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience delivering scalable datasets, reporting, and analytics in a business context.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience handling large-scale data warehousing, lakes, or lakehouse environments.
- Professional certifications in Data Analytics, Cloud Technologies, or related areas are a plus.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python, with ability to use other query or scripting languages as necessary.
- Expertise with Google BigQuery or similar cloud analytic databases.
- Strong grasp of relational database design, data modeling, query optimization, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience merging data from multiple sources into consolidated datasets.
- Proficiency in creating reports and dashboards using BI tools.
- Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and analytics architectures.
Analytical and Business Skills
- Highly analytical mindset with keen attention to data accuracy and detail.
- Curiosity to understand complex business challenges and craft meaningful analytical solutions.
- Ability to address ambiguity and solve intricate problems using logical, data-focused approaches.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical information into business-friendly insights for executives.
- Excellent teamwork skills across technical and non-technical departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Background
- Experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks.
- Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting, financial analytics, or executive dashboards.
- Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Platform or Data Analytics credentials.
Work Environment
- The role is primarily remote or office-based, utilizing standard office equipment and a computer.
- Will participate in virtual and in-person meetings, collaborating with teams across various locations.
