Role overview

We are recruiting for a Haystack partner for a full-time, on-site Data Analyst role based in Washington, DC. This position centers on building and improving mathematical and physics-driven models, simulations, and analytical tools that support mission-level decision-making.

What you will do

  • Support teams working on modeling, simulation, and analytical systems grounded in mathematics and physics.
  • Evaluate and shape new ISRT and BMC2 concepts as well as related system architectures.
  • Study and represent the physics and engineering behind important sensing and counter-sensing technologies.
  • Build and apply new multi-sensor data fusion and resource optimization algorithms inside mission simulations.
  • Carry out software-in-the-loop testing to support planning, execution, and data interpretation.
  • Prepare documentation and communicate findings to project leads, sponsors, and other decision-makers.

What you need

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in modeling and simulation.
  • Strong ability to develop, apply, and improve scientific and engineering models, simulations, and data-processing methods.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills for collaborative work.
  • Hands-on experience with version control tools such as Git or GitLab.
  • Capacity to qualify for an Interim Secret clearance and ultimately a TS/SCI clearance.
