Job description
Position Overview
This role is centered on advanced cybersecurity and compliance delivery for both government contracting and commercial customers. The person in this position will lead NIST and CMMC implementation work, provide senior-level technical support, and stay actively involved in day-to-day security operations. The job includes monitoring for threats, investigating suspicious activity, and helping keep cybersecurity tools and controls running effectively across local and remote environments.
You will also handle setup, support, and maintenance for cloud and on-premises networks, business applications, and office infrastructure. That includes work with firewalls, LAN/WAN and wireless networks, servers, cloud platforms, and internal systems such as email and intranet services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out NIST/CMMC compliance implementation and ongoing support at a senior technical level for GovCon and commercial clients.
- Oversee cybersecurity systems on an ongoing basis, including monitoring, review, and investigation of possible incidents.
- Install, configure, and maintain both cloud-based and on-site networks and applications.
- Deploy and support infrastructure hardware such as firewalls, LAN/WAN components, wireless networks, servers, and related office systems.
- Maintain company email and intranet platforms.
- Deliver remote and on-site technical support, incident response, and issue management for end users.
- Provide technical guidance and context to project teams.
- Set up, manage, and support cloud services and hosted applications such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS.
- Diagnose software, hardware, and business process issues, then repair or replace components when needed.
- Evaluate and test new hardware and software setups.
- Create technical materials including procedures, reports, research notes, and cost analyses.
- Support on-premises and virtual cloud hardware environments.
- Help manage servers, networks, and hosted applications.
- Assist the Cybersecurity Manager with client onboarding projects through to final handoff.
- Communicate clearly with users at all technical levels and document solutions in knowledge bases and policy documents.
- Update DNS records, websites, applications, and content management systems as needed.
- Keep electronic records accurate and current.
- Take part in on-call coverage, including evenings and weekends when required.
- Travel within the United States as needed.
- Handle additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Requirements
- Strong customer-service approach with a focus on outcomes.

- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in computer systems support, cloud infrastructure setup and support, network administration, and network installation/configuration.
- Hands-on knowledge of firewall, VPN, and Layer 3/Layer 4 switch configuration.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows 10/11.
- Experience supporting and deploying Apple/Mac systems.
- Ability to install software, patches, and updates on desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Experience resolving complex network and systems infrastructure problems.
- Direct experience supporting client deployments.
- Strong telephone presence and interpersonal skills focused on user satisfaction.
- Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
- CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certifications are preferred.
- Working knowledge of NIST/CMMC compliance processes is preferred.
- At least two preferred experience areas: cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS; Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, and Azure Entra ID; cybersecurity work in the Department of Defense environment; CMMC/NIST 800-171 implementation and documentation; SIEM solutions.
- Must be available for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support maintenance and service needs.
- Must be willing to travel domestically when needed for client support and project delivery.
- Must maintain accurate records and detailed technical documentation.
- Should be open to taking on new projects while supporting ongoing operations.
