Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a customs clearance professional to oversee import and export clearance activities end to end. The role focuses on keeping shipments fully compliant with local rules, while reducing delays, fines, and avoidable extra costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and check shipping paperwork such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Work closely with government bodies including Customs, SFDA, Ports, and similar authorities.
- Own the full clearance cycle from the moment a shipment arrives until it is released.
- Apply the correct HS code classification to every shipment.
- Review customs duties, taxes, and any other related charges for accuracy.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and clearance service providers.
- Resolve issues related to inspections, customs holds, and shipment delays.
- Track priority shipments and look for ways to shorten clearance time.
- Maintain adherence to customs regulations and internal company policies.
- Prepare regular updates on clearance results, including cost, turnaround time, and recurring issues.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in customs clearance, including import and export operations.
- Solid working knowledge of customs rules, SFDA requirements, and relevant Saudi systems such as FASAH and SABER.
- Strong grasp of Incoterms and their practical application.
- Prior experience dealing with government departments and official entities.
- Good communication abilities and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Comfort with Excel and ERP platforms.
