Customs Analyst (12-Month Temporary Role)

Role overview

This 12-month temporary Customs Analyst opportunity is based in Shannon, County Clare. The hourly pay range is €15.00 to €17.00, depending on experience. In this role, you will support customs compliance activities and work closely with the Global Trade and Customs Site Lead. The position suits someone who performs well in a busy environment and enjoys partnering with different teams.

Key responsibilities

• Help determine HTS classifications for goods being imported and exported.
• Prepare and share import clearance guidance for agents handling inbound shipments.
• Support freight forwarders with both import and export-related queries.
• Work with internal teams and outside agencies to address customs compliance matters.
• Assist with the preparation and upkeep of internal metrics and reporting.
• Keep records complete, accurate, and audit-ready, and make sure reporting deadlines are met.
• Support the identification and disclosure of possible compliance breaches.
• Contribute to internal and external audits, including site visits when required.
• Carry out other customs or global trade duties as assigned.
• Step in as a delegate or backup when needed.
• Follow current import and export laws, regulations, and internal company standards.
• Observe requirements set by internal functions such as EH&S, E&C, and CORE.

Required skills and experience

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using IT systems, with practical knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.
