Job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team in Novi, Michigan for a 13-week contract. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, encompassing a 40-hour workweek. Immediate availability is preferred.

Key Duties

  • Handle inbound telephone calls delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Welcome patients and complete registration processes using the Epic electronic medical record system.
  • Manage scheduling of patient appointments and oversee front desk activities.
  • Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
  • Investigate and resolve patient questions, complaints, and issues related to service.
  • Inform patients about healthcare services, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain precise records of all patient interactions and transactions.
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Process billing related to workers' compensation claims accurately.
  • Conduct end-of-day reconciliation of cash.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and healthcare providers to address patient concerns.
  • Support departmental initiatives, including enrollment efforts and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is advantageous but not essential.
  • At least two years of recent experience (within the past three years) in customer service or call center environments.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or medical office settings is required.
  • Practical knowledge of the Epic EMR system.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask and organize responsibilities effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, high-volume patient environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is essential.
