Role Overview
The migration team is responsible for preparing detailed design documents outlining the physical migration of network devices from Alcatel Lucent/Nokia 7450 to 7750 models. These documents support the integration teams and field technicians during implementation.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Designing inside plant infrastructure in telecom exchanges and data centers, covering racks, devices, network, and power cabling layouts.
- Managing physical migration of network devices including creating planning and design documentation for these migrations.
- Utilizing tools like PNI SpatialNet, TPNI, Smallworld, ConnectMaster, Geospatial platforms, alongside Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Word for documentation and diagram creation.
- Importing and exporting data within PNI tools to ensure accuracy and integration consistency.
- Possessing core network and aggregation knowledge, including experience in creating end-to-end and single line network diagrams.
- Familiarity with Alcatel Lucent/Nokia 7450 & 7750, Cisco ASR9000, and DWDM technologies across various media types.
- Understanding the full network lifecycle from design through installation.
- Hands-on field involvement such as fiber installation, splicing, patching to NTU, and familiarity with hardware components including cards, SFPs, and patch cords.
- Working hours aligned with continuous Australian business hours, starting either 3:30 AM to 12:30 PM or 2:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with Mobile Android version 16.
