Role Overview

The Customer Service Agent manages money receipt and payments while maintaining precise records related to cash and negotiable instruments across various transactions. The role prioritizes fulfilling customer needs through prompt, accurate processing and documentation of routine financial transactions such as bill payments, cambio operations, and money transfers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Begin each shift by receiving and counting the cash float.
  • Verify customer identification and process transactions related to Cambio, remittance, and bill payments.
  • Accept various payment forms including cash, checks, and debit/credit cards, ensuring payment slips are accurate.
  • Accurately input transaction details into computer systems and provide customers with computer-generated receipts.
  • Inspect received cash to detect counterfeit bills and confirm payment amounts.
  • Review checks to validate endorsements, dates, bank details, payer identity, and document legality.
  • Handle receipt and disbursement of MoneyGram transactions as authorized by supervisors.
  • Promptly and precisely record all transactions complying with company protocols.
  • Address and resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Inform and promote Prime Trust Financial's products and services to customers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated capability to deliver exceptional customer service focusing on customer satisfaction and experience.
  • Prior exposure to customer-facing roles such as Customer Service Representative or similar positions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with aptitude for active listening and problem resolution.
  • Competence in computer usage, including point-of-sale and customer management software, along with basic office applications.
  • High attention to detail, dependability, and adherence to financial and compliance processes.
  • Ability to stay composed and courteous in a fast-moving work setting.
  • Experience in financial services or retail banking environments is advantageous.
  • Secondary education completed with passing grades in at least three CXC subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, or Accounts.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a retail or financial institution customer service role.
