Job description
About the organisation
The AA has supported New Zealanders for more than 120 years and has developed from a motoring-focused club into a large, trusted organisation serving over one million members with a wide range of products and services. The business is continuing to evolve into a more connected, modern, and purpose-led workplace, with an emphasis on collaboration, learning, and making a real difference for members and customers.
Role overview
An opportunity is available for a Customer Sales Consultant to join the New Plymouth Centre. In this role, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for customers visiting the centre, helping them have a positive experience from the moment they arrive.
What you will do
You will spend your day understanding customer needs, matching them with suitable AA products and services, and working confidently toward sales goals. Alongside sales, you will handle a mix of administrative and customer service duties that help keep the centre operating smoothly. The position is full time and based onsite in New Plymouth.
About you
The ideal candidate enjoys delivering excellent service and takes satisfaction in helping people find practical solutions. Prior experience in retail and/or sales is important, and you should feel comfortable working in a busy, target-driven environment. A positive outlook, strong energy, and a willingness to learn will help you succeed, as will a team-oriented approach and an ability to build rapport with customers.
What the AA offers
- Complimentary AA membership for you and your family.
- One paid day off for your birthday, plus two wellbeing leave days each year.
- Access to training and career development opportunities.
- Discounts on insurance products.
Additional information

The company values diversity and encourages applicants to bring their authentic selves to work. Candidates who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to apply if they believe they may be a strong fit.
